HP Secures Patent for Sci-Fi Screen Technology

Filed in 2006, HP has just been granted a patent for a transparent screen that will allow a user to see both content displayed on the screen and items behind it.

HP has already been capitalizing on this technology. Although it has yet to be put into commercial use, Hugh Jackman’s character in the 2011 film “Reel Steel” was seen using a similar screen to follow a robot.

Star Wars fans may also recognize a similar technology shown in the headline image above.
