DJ Paulie vs. DJ Pauly D

DJ Paulie vs. DJ Pauly D

Paul Delvecchio Jr., better known as “DJ Pauly D” from the MTV reality show “Jersey Shore” settled a trademark infringement suit with a Connecticut DJ who claims he has been referring to himself as “DJ Paulie” since 1973. Paul Lis accused MTV, Delvecchio and other entities of illegally using his name. He further claims he went to great lengths over the last 40 years to maintain a family friendly image, and blames the profanity and promiscuity of the show for tarnishing his image. Lis obtained a federal registration for the trademark from the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office in September 2010.
